On my way to the Netherlands

Today I leave for the University of Twente in the Netherlands. This is an exciting trip because we will be spending almost 6 months there. Maybe I'll even learn some Dutch! Here we are at the internatinal terminal in SFO...

That is just our carry on luggage, you would be impressed with what we checked. Everything suitcase was carefully weighed in to be 47-50 lbs each. We made it on to the gate in time to check out the planes and watch a few movies, including Dr. Strangelove which was a goodbye gift from mom's boss...

On the plane I got my own little seatbealt that attached to moms. I guess everyone has got to be buckled in for take off and landing regardless of age, size, or experience flying...

Speaking of experience flying, I did some math... I've been to Chicago, Boston, Vancouver, and now Amsterdam. Add that all up and you get about about 15,000 miles or 30 hours in a plane, given that I'm not even 4 months old yet I've logged a good portion of my life flying. That means I've traveled about 125 miles a day since I was born... or put another way I'm in motion at an average of about 5 miles per hour. If I can get that up closer to the speed of light, I believe I can live much longer thay usual.... hmmm. Well, with all this traveling going on I can say 1 thing, the best way to go is sleeping. KLM has seats that totally recline in firstclass, but they also have these nice little baskets that hang off the bulkhead for infants. So, I guess you can say here I am enjoying baby first class...

Of course, everyone wants a little in flight entertainment too...
