Bad Bentheim Castle

This is a Guest entry with Grandma & Grandpa about Tony's Big Adventure to Bad Bentheim Germany.

Poor Mom had to go to work so it was me Dad, Grandma & Grandpa off to see the big castle in Bad Bentheim just over the Dutch-German border. Mom being the worrier that she is made a list of everything we had to take and do. Of course she made sure to remind dad about the passports and all the bottles and things needed to be sure I was well fed. I'm a growing boy ya know. Well all was going well. We packed every thing and took off for the train. We made our connections and were well on the way to Germany. So I took a nap. Grampa tells me at this point Gram and Dad had a lengthy discussion about when I should eat. After some debate it was decided I should eat on the train before we got to Bad Bentheim. Ok Gram says were's the bottle? They all look at each other. Do you have it? Did you take the back back? It was NO all around. Of course gram freaked out. Check out these different reactions by Gram & Gramps to the discovery that we have no bottles no diapers no toys no nothing. You'll notice gramps glasses are off so you know what that means.

Gramps and dad thought it was pretty funny and gram freaked out. I think you can tell by her expression. I'm on her side. After all who's at risk of going hungry here anyway?

Well I guess I shouldn't have worried. We found a grocery and got the things we needed and I ate lunch in the store entrance. Gramps said it's just like a motorcycle trip when they stop to gas up and eat in front of the gas station. Here we are in front of the store. Thank goodness it was fairly close to the station. I was hungry.

After all that we finally got to the castle. Here we are on the grounds out front and at the gate.

Due to spending valuable time with the trip to the grocery we had to make the Castle tour really quick. So Gram and I decided to chill out and wait for gramps and dad to make a mad dash through the castle. I think they had a good time and I was just as happy waiting with my gram in the middle on the castle courtyard. Here's some photos they took.

All in all it was quite an adventure. I can hardly wait to see what happens tomorrow.

While we were having all that fun mom was at the lab. Here's a photo of mom's lab and her associates hard at work studying alchemy. I was surprised. I thought she had more up to date equipment.
