A day of lights

It is Saturday the 23, my first weekend. I started the day with a visit to my friend Dr. Sam. He is Dr. Lionel's partner and covering for the weekend. Dr. said he couldn't tell if I was jaundice so he sent me for a blood test. This is the 2nd time in 2 days I had to get my heel pricked, the first for the battery of 50 or so tests CA does to all babies. Mom was worried about my test results, so when I got home we went across the street to catch some rays on a park bench. Here I am working on my tan... the warm sun felt great:

Sun was really bright, so I asked dad if I could borrow his shades. Here I am feeling cool and flashing a "hang loose" sign.

Well, as it truned out my test came back borderline, so as a preventative measure I headed back to the hospital for a little more light. This special bed puts off a blue light and should take care of me. The light is either 450nm or 590nm depending on who you ask. Mom was asking all sorts of nerdy questions like that... wavelenghts, mercury bulbs, filter cubes, etc. I really hope she doesn't embarass me when I am old enough to care.

It is kinda like a tanning bed, but it is not UV light... just blue. I get a eye mask and it is quite cozy for napping. I am scheduled for 2 days of this treatment and mom is staying with me to make sure I eat right. I wonder if blue will turn out to be my favorite color.
