A touristy day in Anping

Today we spent the day with our host Stephanie visiting the tourist village of Anping, Tainan. First, though, we visited campus so that mom could go on a tour of the facilities, during which time, I could show Charlie the turtle!

I also showed mom the museum I went to yesterday|:

Then we went to Anping. First we stopped at a local shrimp place for lunch where I had local fresh shrimp and the Dan Zhou noodles. Stephanie also bought me a mango ice cream for dessert while I played with an old wooden Taiwanese pinball machine
Next we went to a local tourist destination, a treehouse! This is a place where a banyan tree grew into a old star age shed that the Dutch used in the 1600's to store sugar and stuff for trade. It has since been abandoned and a tree took over. Sort of cool.

I spent most of my time at the water wheel, and feeding fish. I also got to see out hotel room from the top of the house.

Next we went to see the Dutch fort, but I was getting hungry. So we stopped for a local delicacy, Anping bean jelly. However, they ran out of tapioca balls so I had the traditional jelly and it was gross!

When we were align out, we noticed a girl with tapia do balls! So I got some and tried them again. Better, but it just ate the yummy tapioca balls.
Next, we walked to the fort, where on the way we saw lots of cool stuff, including ladies that were shucking and cleaning oysters that were coming straight from the o ran

It smelled a little fishy, but was sorta cool. Then we went to a temple:

And finally to the Anping fort, where the Dutch made a fort when the took over back in the 1600's. At the top of the tower, we could see our awesome hotel!

Then we walked around the city a little more and mom took some pictures:

Finally, Stephanie took us to eat some of those fresh oysters were saw:

The oysters were yummy!

Then we went back, picked up dr. Yang and Tsai and went to dinner as our last dinner in Tainan. It was amazing. And here are pictures!

Ok, I'm tired. Time to sleep. I have one last picture taken from the lobby of our hotel
Good night all!
